My name is Nicole Politis. I am one of the Directors at Portico Day Nurseries. I started the company 16 years ago when my son was 9 weeks old. Being a new mum myself, I felt I was well equipped to know what parents wanted. My aim was to provide a loving, caring, and safe environment for children and a place where parents felt happy to leave their precious child. Craig joined me a few years later and together, we have built seven settings under the Portico brand, all offering outstanding child care with a real family feel. My motto has always been “If you have a happy team, you have happy children and very happy parents.” I love my role and visit all the settings on a weekly basis. We have wonderful teams in all our settings and, from the area manager to the brand new apprentice, we all strive for the best outcomes for the children in our care.
Hello, my name is Sarah and I have worked in childcare for 25 years now. I have worked for Portico Nursery Group since the company opened. I have previously been the manager at Portico Lodge and Portico at Moss Bank, and became Area Manager in 2012. I am an Early Years Professional and have The National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership.
As area manager, I visit all our settings during the week and support the managers and their teams to help ensure we offer the best childcare and education to our families. I have lots of experience to be able to support the teams hands on in the rooms, while supporting managers with leadership, management, and the professional development of their teams.
I love my job as no day is the same. I feel very privileged to work with all our amazing teams and see our team members develop their careers. However, my favourite part is seeing the children grow. It’s always a sad day when they leave for school, although the greatest reward is knowing that we have played a part in ensuring they are ready for the next stage of their life.
